McMorran Beach Park is located in the District of Saanich, one of thirteen municipalities that make up the Capital Regional District of British Columbia. There is a large Big Leaf maple and a couple of tall Douglas firs that tower over the grass covered viewpoint from the parkland. A concrete fifty-five step staircase leads down to the sand and gravel beach along the shore Haro Strait, part of the Salish Sea. Signage mentions the historical usage of this parkland and its name associated with the McMorran family who supported development of the community in Cordova Bay. This is a beautiful place to walk in your backyard.
