Heron Cove Park is in the seaside city of Victoria, one of thirteen communities that form the Capital Regional District of British Columbia. Heron Cove Park connects the boardwalk from the Wyndham WorldMark Club vacation towers, Coast Harbourside Hotel and Marina to the viewpoint near the parking area of Fisherman’s Wharf and Park in James Bay, Victoria, B.C. If you arrive in a quiet time, great blue herons can be seen fishing in the waters near the shore of the cove and off of the wharves. This park has two parts that are proposed to be connected by a forty meter bridge that will span the tidal flats of Heron Cove. Heron Cove is small indent in Major Cove which hosts the Fisherman’s Wharf with float homes and shops as well the private and commercial vessels. This park has an arbutus tree among other plantings as well as a small sheltered seating area near the Wyndham Vacation Towers. The walkway through the parkland and along the shore is part of the David Foster Way, a footpath along the south shore of Victoria’s Harbour from Barclay Point to Ogden Point. There are many other places to enjoy the outdoors and explore nature that are near Heron Cove Park. This includes Fisherman’s Wharf Park, Heron Street Green Space, the Canadian Coast Guard Rooftop Garden and Green Space, Ogden Point Park and Walkway, Holland Point Park, MacDonald Park, Earnest Todd Park, James Bay Community School Green Space, Todd Park, and James Bay Allotment Garden.
The waterfront walkway from Heron Cove Park leads past Raymur Point and the Canadian Customs dock; this is next to the Coast Harbourside Marina and just after Fisherman’s Wharf.

Heron Cove Park can be reached the Trans Canada Highway. Continue along the highway as it becomes Douglas Street. Continue along Douglas Street and then turn right onto Superior Street. Continue along Superior Street until the junction with St. Lawrence Street. Heron Cove Park is located near this corner. There is limited parking near this park. Fisherman’s Wharf Park is nearby where there is more parking, possibly. City buses provide service to Fisherman’s Wharf and James Bay area from downtown Victoria, B.C.
