Park Heights Trail – East Sooke Park

Park Heights Trail – East Sooke Park is in the seaside Juan de Fuca Electoral Area and is bordered by Sooke and lies in East Sooke; thus the trail is included in the section about Sooke. Both Sooke and the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area are part of the Capital Regional District of British Columbia. This trails connects into East Sooke Park from the west side. The pathway leads to a lookout about two and half kilometers from the roadway. The views is across the Strait of Juan de Fuca southward. The Olympic Mountains of Washington State compose the background. The view is near the junction with the Coast Trail. The Park Heights trail also connects with the interior trail and Babbington Hill trail.  The map of this park is available from the CRD park.

Park Heights Trail – East Sooke Park can be reached from the Trans Canada Highway. Take the Langford Parkway exit and follow along to reach Sooke Road (Hwy 14). Turn right to follow highway 14 westward to Gillespie Road. Turn left onto Gillespie Road to turn right onto East Sooke Road. Follow East Sooke Road to Park Heights Road and turn left. Continue to the end of this road and look for the signs at the trail head. A short connector trail leads into the park. There is parking in the along the street. Allow about half an hour of driving time to reach the trail head for this access into East Sooke Park. City buses travel along the Gillespie Road during weekdays.
