John Muir Elementary School Green Space is in the seaside community of Sooke, one of thirteen communities that form the Capital Regional District of British Columbia. This school yard is part of the school district number sixty two called Sooke. The school is named after an early settler in the area. There is large giant sequoia tree and many small trees in the green space. The garden plot that is supported by the school and local community is fenced with a very high, deer proof, fence. The sports fields are grass covered and are used for soccer, football and other team sports. The playground has a wood chip base. The play equipment includes climbing and sliding apparatus as well as balancing beams and swings. This is a great place to walk in your backyard.

John Muir Elementary School Green Space can reached from the Trans Canada Highway. Take the Langford Parkway exit and follow along to reach Sooke Road (Hwy 14). Follow highway 14 which is now called the West Coast Road and look for the school on the left once you are west of the town center. Turn left to access the green space. There is parking during school hours; otherwise expect the gate to be locked. City buses travel along Sooke Road.
