Nicklaus Park East

Nicklaus Park East lies in the Bear Mountain neighborhood of Langford, B.C. Located on a steep northern slopes of Miniskirt Mountain, Nicklaus Park East is about one third of a hectare in size with a polygonal shape. The park is bordered by several residential homes. Douglas fir, cedar and arbutus trees are seen in the second growth forest in this park. They provide shade to ocean spray, salal, snowberry and scotch broom shrubs as well as ferns and moss. The gravel trail into the park is steep and eventually connects to trails in Natures Gate Park, Nicklaus Park and Miniskirt Mountain Park. Muirfield Park is across the road from the trail along Nicklaus Drive. A small sign shows the trail head which meanders through rocky outcrops coved with moss.
