South Vancouver Island Rangers Green Space

South Vancouver Island Rangers Green Space is in the Happy Valley neighborhood of Langford, B.C. Established in 1941, these members’ only grounds host a facility originally built in 1948. The green space is available for rental with sites for trap and skeet shooting, barbequing, picnicking, children’s playing and camping. There is limited access into this green space as it is for members only. The thirteen and half hectare property is bisected by Bilston Creek and is border by the Linda Loma Park and the Galloping Goose Trail – Langford. Bilston Creek drains via Witty’s Lagoon Park into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Covered mostly Douglas fir and arbutus trees, the grounds have extensive grasslands for the various activities and several walking trails. Ed Fisher Memorial Park, Glen Cove Park, Glen Lake Park, Cy Jenkins Trail, Galloping Goose Trail – Langford, Isabell Green Space, Happy Valley Elementary School Green Space and Weaver Park are nearby.

South Vancouver Island Rangers Green Space can be reached from the Trans Canada Highway also called Hwy1. Turn at Millstream exit and continue south to reach the Veterans Memorial Parkway. Turn onto Sooke Road and continue along to reach Happy Valley Road or travel further along to reach Luxton Road. Follow Happy Valley Road southward to reach Luxton Road. The green space is at 3498 Luxton Road and has a sign beside the wooden gate and fenced property. City buses travel along Luxton and Happy Valley roads.
