Metchosin Wilderness Park is in the District of Metchosin, a coastal community in the Capital Regional District of British Columbia. Also known are Metchosin Park, Clapham Park or Hundred Acre Park, Metchosin Wilderness Park occupies the forty hectares of Crown land on Section 25. This park is composed of the second growth Douglas fir and cedar forest; it was selectively harvested in the early nineteen hundreds. The understory is composed of salal, fungi, skunk cabbage and sword ferns that border the numerous trails. While some trails lead up to bluffs overlooking neighboring valleys, the main trail circles around a low-lying swampy area. A few sections have raised portions yet prepare for wet conditions when visiting here. The trails are shared by hikers, dog walkers and equestrians. Additional trails connect to the many roads and homes that surround this park: Liberty Drive, Ed’s Lane, DeerTrail Road, Arden Road and Clapham Drive. Trails in the park branch off to join to Connector and Buckbrush Swamp Parks.

Metchosin Wilderness Park can be reached from Highway 1 when you exit at the Millstream /Veteran Memorial Parkway exit. Head south along the Veteran Memorial Parkway to reach Latoria Road. Turn right onto Latoria Road and continue along to reach Happy Valley Road. Turn left onto Happy Valley Road and then right onto Rocky Point Road. The park can be reached by turn onto Arden Road or onto Clapham Drive, where the entrance is marked by a wooden sign. Alternative access if from side roads off of Liberty Drive: Ed’s Lane, and Deer Trail. There is limited parking near this parkland. City buses travel along Happy Valley Road.
