A lovely sanctuary of outdoor space in a busy urban neighborhood, Mason Street Park has a grassy area shaded by Garry oak and black locust trees. The park is about a quarter of a hectare in size with a hundred and thirty meter walking loop that connects with both Opal and Manson streets. It is a good size oval to train a new young tricyclist. There is a great playground, unique swings and a tennis court. The playground has a climbing structure that leads to a couple of slides with rubber crumb matting on the ground. In addition to the double set of toddler swings and regular swings there is a swing made out of an old park bench. The tennis court is good although not fenced so if you play like me you’ll lose a lot of balls. There is chain-link fence between the park and the parking area for Wellburns Market and stores. The green space of the old St Andrews Elementary School borders on the western side of the park. It is separated by a high chain link fence. Across the Manson Street is the Mason Street Farm.
