Robert Street Green Space is in the seaside city of Victoria, one of thirteen communities that form the Capital Regional District of British Columbia. A drinking water fountain at the end of Robert Street marks this waterfront green space located beside Rainbow Park in Victoria, BC. A short walkway leads west past the fountain to Westsong Walkway, the footpath that hugs the shoreline of Victoria’s Harbour. This beach access has wonderful vistas across to the boats moored at the Fisherman’s Wharf as well as in West Bay. The view also includes Odgen Point, Berens Island, Work Point and further across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the Olympic Mountains of Washington State, USA. It is short walk along the shore the rocks on Coffin Island Point and, if the tide is low enough, to Coffin Island. Colvile Island is further off shore to the east. The shoreline is rocky, but if the winds are right, there is a good spot to launch a paddle board, kayak or canoe from the small sandy area near Coffin Island. This is a wonderful place to explore nature in your backyard.
