The drive up to the Bear Mountain Resort is lined with several nature parks. This area of Langford, BC, is on the eastern slope of the Mount Finlayson in Langford, B.C. Stone Gate Park is between the one kilometer and one and half markers seen on the sidewalk beside the BM Parkway. This park is a long linear park bordered by the sidewalk from Stone Gate Road to the pedestrian walkway across to the sidewalk along Echo Valley Drive. The steep terrain is composed of Wark gneiss and sandstone. The second growth forest with cedar, Douglas fir and alder is access from a concrete walkway from BMP to the end of Harrow Gate. The pathway is fairly steep and does not have any stairs. It is a great way to see a small section of Gardner Creek. This creek is a tributary of Mill Stream. The park can be access from beside the postal boxes along Harrow Gate. Harrow Gate Park, Alton Lane Park, Setchfield Park, Arngask Park, Bishops Gate Park, Skyline Park and Bear Mountain Parkway Green Space are nearby.

Stone Gate Park can be reached from the Trans Canada Highway also called Hwy1. Turn at Millstream Road and turn left onto Bear Mountain Parkway. Continue along BMP to reach Stone Gate. Turn right onto Stone Gate and then take the first right to Harrow Gate Road. The pathway though a section of park is on the right from the end of Harrow Gate. There is parking along this road.
