Carpenter Road Park

Carpenter Road Park is in the seaside community of Sooke, one of thirteen communities that form the Capital Regional District of British Columbia and is part of the Juan De Fuca Electoral District Parkland. The nature park is about one hectare in size with a cottonwood forest that surrounds a four thousand square meter marshland. A rough one hundred meter long foot path in the forest parallels the roadway and leads to a seven step stair case and a small look out point. There is bench at the lookout. The view is a marshland that has a variety of seasonal waterfowl. The park is in a quiet neighborhood and surrounded by acreages. This is a good place to walk in your back yard.

Carpenter Road Park can be reached from the Trans Canada Highway. It is about an hour from Victoria, BC. Take the Langford Parkway exit and follow along to reach Sooke Road (Hwy 14). Follow highway 14 to Otter Point Road. Continue past Otter Point Road as the Hwy 14 becomes the West Coast Road Follow along to the roadway to reach Carpenter Road. Follow Carpenter Road to Dalrae Place Road and look for the park on the left. The pathway has a small post. There is roadside parking. City buses travel along Sooke Road.
