
Shady Creek United Church Green Space is in the municipality of Central Saanich, one of the thirteen which form the Capital Regional District of British Columbia. Located on the Saanich Peninsula of Vancouver Island, the green space hosts the cemetery and perimeter plantings of the church and consecrated grounds since eighteen sixty two. The church was built with assistance of Charles and Nancy Alexander. A recognition plaque can be found at the church. There are several tall firs, cedar and spruce trees in this green space which borders along the ravine of Sandhill – Tatayak Creek. This is a historical place to walk in your back yard.

Shady Creek United Church Green Space can be reached from the Trans-Canada Highway, Highway One. Exit on to Mackenzie Avenue to reach Highway 17, the Pat Bay Highway. Continue along Highway 17 to reach Island View Road. Turn left onto Island View Road then left onto East Saanich Road. There is limited roadside parking near the church at 7180 East Saanich Road and a small gravel parking area at the back of church buildings.
